That would have come in handy when I was a young dumb and full of hormones teen when I pined after a girl who would never have any interest in me. Boy did I crash big time when she finally, after working up the nerve to ask her out, rejected me.
I don't see how anyone in the modern age, other than evolution will always produce irrational beliefs, but how anyone knowing what we know about science can still stick their heads in the sand and deny the harsh truth that this is all there is and there is no magic super hero to save us.
Seriously to any modern believer who reads this, of any religion, if you can live without believing that the sun is a thinking god, like the Egyptians once falsely believed, what makes you think our species cant live without your pet god claim? Humans have given up on lots of myths over time and I think you can too.
Accepting reality does not make the atheist a pessimist or evil. It merely means we don't need to make up stories to explain either the good or bad that happen in reality.
