Quote:I was thrilled to hear that Organic food is no more beneficial nutritionally than chemically treated food,
I've never thought otherwise. I don't usually eat organic food, except the little I grow myself. That's not through choice but cost and aesthetics.(organic food is often smaller and can look downright unattractive).
I'm aware it may be purely psychological, but I think my own peaches, spuds, tomatoes, corn, spinach, and herbs, etc taste better than store bought.
I have little doubt that organic food is healthier because of what it does NOT contain, especially pesticides, which can be toxic. I am very wary of fresh produce of any kind from third world countries, because I have no idea how such products are produced, treated and stored.
I avoid food with chemical preservatives as much as I can.It is illegal in Australia add preservatives to fresh meat.
Intolerant of me I know, but I have only contempt for vegans and others of that general flavour who try to impose their ideas on others through the use of a nonexistent moral authority. That may be why I have a similar prejudice against such organisations such as Greenpeace and and Amnesty International.
