I think the point most of them try to bring up is that the world women live in (inside their heads, that is) is that because every man is a potential rapist (supposedly) and we can't tell who is who, all men should go out of their way to make us feel very comfortable. Or not talk to us. Basically don't sexualize us until we say so. The world doesn't work that way, and no one is going to go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, because not everyone's comfort level is the same. But I agree with you whole-heartedly on #2. That's what bothers me the most.
The "world inside a woman's head" is why I brought up bad parenting. Parents fill their kids heads with all sorts of nonsense, and many of them don't adjust the "safety concerns" as their kids age, which is why we're in such a mess. It's embarrassing for most parents to discuss safety or sex with their kids, and that's ridiculous. Mothers tell their daughters that they have to worry about boys doing all sorts of things to them, and the media just conflates it all.
