The theory is not meant to be proof (science doesn't really deal in proofs, it deals in explanations and provisional certainty).
Quote:So, my point is: that it's the best explanation for something "we don't know about". The latter of that statement being the issue. Why do you think that the theory of gravity is the best explanation for an observed phenomena of gravity (and which one)? To say we don't know about gravity would be taking hilarious liberties with the phrase.
Quote:As for the God & Trinity itself? Some theories claim that the hand of God is holding the Universe in place! No, no theories claim that. You really need to take the time to fully absorb what a theory is. A faith based claim is incapable of rising to the status of theory....and honestly, I don't think the faithful would want their claims to rise to the status of theory, because to do so would be to invite disaster.
Quote:Whats the difference if they are both theories? Their POV, and status in the scientific community?!The key difference is that they are not -both- theories. Laying that aside, if they were, their POV would be irrelevant, a theory's status in the scientific community is (most often though not always) a function of how well it matches observation, and how well it stands up to scrutiny. Now, amusingly, most faith based claims parading around as theories have been humored at least long enough to explain to those interested precisely why they would fail as theories -even if they had met the bar to be called a theory-...which they do not.
Quote:Just think IF Louis Pasture would've been a physicist! You might be calling Gravity....well...maybe not!Herp derp.
How do you get your teeth so white! Probably not a coffee drinker!
