My efforts to contact the authorities for more information on JonB are beginning to pay off, though perhaps not all for the good. Today I received this vaguely threatening letter, with the promise of more documents to come. I share them at some risk, knowing that the benefit to the community of solving the JonB mystery avatar outweighs the personal risk to myself. Their reference to Jon as an "inmate" suggests that this mystery is deeper than I anticipated.

I have been meaning to look into this. Perhaps you have the firearms knowledge and are testifying as an expert. Did Winchester ever make a pistol and can we be sure if the pistol is specifically a Colt model?
