Christianity's Holy Trinity runs on the simple rule of "Jesus is who I currently need him to be."
Jesus is God when they're preaching and attempting to convert people and whatnot. He's the son of God when they're speaking of how God loves us and whatever, sacrificing his son/himself for our sins. And when he's neither of them, God is a spirit or some shit. I don't really expect this kind of thing to make sense.
Not slagging off the Christians or anything. That's just how it's always been explained to me.
