Aren't subsidies just another way of saying "incentives?" Damn corporations are what really runs America.

Its a subset of incentives... I wouldn't say they are synonymous no.
The risk of getting taken to court, pleasure, bad/good press, the prospect of making a lot of money... also incentives.
