Sure thing. Underneath every post, you'll see some buttons like "Reply", "Report", etc. There is one that looks like this:

If you click that, you give the post a recommendation. Clicking it again will take the recommendation away. The idea is to give recommendations to posts that you think are well thought out, or funny, or just deserving of a recommendation.
Our "Top Members" sections ranks users using an algorithm for determining who has the most recommended posts, and it only takes into account posts that have more than one recommendation (so if myself and Darwinian both give a recommendation to the same post, it will count towards the top members section. If only myself gives a recommendation, it won't. This is to keep people from abusing the recommendation system.
