Meaning if your understanding of 'right' varies from what God has established then it is not God who is the monster. It is you, but as you said all you could see was an appeal to might because that what you already understood god to be.So you support slavery then? How about killing entire towns of people if the majority religion differed from your own?
Drich Wrote:Do you think the world stupid, and you some sort of exception to the rule? The reason belief persists is because people through christ interact with God everyday. I will grant you that there are those who pretend and say one thing and do another, but all in all. Christianity would have died out like every other religion if God was not apart of it.History of Hinduism

wikipedia Wrote:The earliest evidence for prehistoric religion in India date back to the late Neolithic in the early Harappan period (5500–2600 BCE).You're right, god is apart of it, seeing as he's not real. Funny, how you claim that every other religion has died off. I assume you mean every older religion, but even in that you would be incorrect.
Drich Wrote:Another example of flawed reasoning.God wrote the rules that disqualified us. He also punished us for breaking the rules that he knew were impossibl not to break, and allowed things like slavery to slip by in order to focus on more important moral transgressions, like picking up sticks on a Sunday, for instance.
In short form; God gave us choice, but the very act of choosing disqualified us from being with God. Then he provided attonement so all that is left is the choice we made in this life.
Drich Wrote:Redefining god does not change the original definition. Of course, people may redefine him all they like, seeing as they will never find a compelling reason to correct themselves. Why pick another religion to make you feel better when you can just bend this one?Quote:No sane person would willingly worship a God like that, this is why the bulk of his followers have redefined him so that he has the best of human qualities.I disagree, God has been redefined so people who have their own Ideas of what God is supposed to be do not have to give up everything they think they know inorder to serve God.
Drich Wrote:Not true. I've been to the gates of Hell and seen what can be done and know the pain we are slated for. I do not worship god because i fear Him I worship God because He showed me the boundless Love He offers all of us.This 'love' is really just abscence of hate. Isn't that how psychological abuse works? Trick them into thinking not hurting = loving? Also, anyone could claim they have been to the gates of anything (presuming you are using a metaphor), but a dream is pretty weak evidence.
Drich Wrote:Fear is only the beginning of wisdom/knoweledge of God. It is NOT the reason we love and worship Him. Meaning we may start out in fear, but God will take our hands and show us their is nothing to be afraid of.If you do everything he tells you to, no matter how horrific.
