I think it's also worth mentioning that biological evolution isn't the only kind of evolution out there. Technology evolves, with the 1800's telephone evolving into the cell phones everyone carries today; religious beliefs evolve (there's even a thread discussing he evolution of Satan in Christianity); in this case, the issue is cultural evolution. If laws are put in place that specifically attack people for being intelligent or educated, the society will evolve to discourage intelligence and education.

Personally, I find it incredibly facinating how universal evolution is and how many facets of our lives have been impacted by it and how it's happening right now, as we speak.
