Charlotte's Airport Employs 1.9 Million Worms to Compost Leftover Food

One of the reasons I'm happy to live near (soon to be IN) Charlotte and never want to leave is that the sustainability movement is on the rise here. Uptown reflects the growing trend the area is going towards - airy glass buildings with LED lighting and pocket parks, better attempts at public transportation (our foundations unfortunately wouldn't support an underground rail system, but many people use buses all the way up to where I live in Concord, and we have a light rail as well). Many public parking garages and street parking places are now reserving spots for electric/hybrid cars only, complete with hook ups.

It's exciting to see, and always interesting to watch the "hippies" (and boy to we have some real hippies as well as mere environmentalists) clash with the Christian nihilists.
