So what political system are we in? That might seem like a silly question, but everyone as far as I can see is sitting around and saying if things were run my way it would all be different, and presuming the present state of things is not their form of governance, capitalists, say there is not enough of a free market, socialists say there is not enough support for ordinary individuals, etc. But looking at things I see the markets are governmentally controlled by the wealthy, and individuals are discouraged from competing by the left. As such I would say the present state does not fit any political philosophy, in that we are run by expedience.
Those in power do not look at long term solutions or the ramifications of their decisions, but constantly seek quick fixes. As such our system should be classified as a form Anarchy, where the individual receives in proportion to its power.
To me arguments like of left and right that that we should have a capitalist or socialist revolution and then we can start living, seem like excuses not to live the way you want now.
