Anything not done for the glory of God can be identified as a waist of time. So I guess it depends on the reason why your friend works out. Is it to become more appealing to his sexual demo, or has he found some way to serve God through his effort? (Kinda like Samson in a non philistine killing way.) it all becomes a matter of the heart.

no it does. You just have to approach it from the right angle. Biblical Christianity is not a list of rules one must follow. It is freedom from said rules to worship god with all of one's being. (Heart, Mind Spirit and STRENGTH)

If God has blessed you with the genetics and inclination to work out to the point you would consider yourself to be a body builder, and if you can somehow focous the 'attention' you get from others then body building is your lot or talent that you must double for the glory of God. If however one uses body building as a means of self glory then it is a sin like anyother.
