In the grand scheme of things, we have:
- A culture that is often criticized for it's biases against women
- A culture and police force that has a history of not pursuing allegations of sexual assault seriously
And you think a one time event like the above, along with your unthinking reflex towards the death penalty (which, by the way, requires that an investigation comes to trial, something that was broken long before today in India...), will change things for the better?
Is this about change, or simply doling out death to people you'd like to think should be killed while the vast majority escapes with their heinous crimes?
Show me how Indian culture is going to change to even allow for this grand "declaration" of death when the police don't even do their due diligence...
