Sounds to me like your answer is really no. The golden rule does not have any conditions on what the other persons says or does and it sounds to me like your treatment of others is conditional, e.g., you will treat another like you want to be treated as long as they first earn your respect. Please clarify if you like. Also, I was not asking whether you always actually follow the golden rule I was merely asking whether or not you agree with the golden rule standard and strive to follow it.
