The jury's still out on the impact of gaming on child development. Current research seems to indicate that child gamers develop good decision-making/judgement skills but don't develop their interpersonal skills well. There's also some research going on about the wider social implications of 'gaming culture' on matters such as education/school attendance, dietary habits and physical & mental wellbeing.
