Sorry for the late update.
Well as it happens it is no surprise that flies (or any other creature, Dung beetles for example) which have a life cycle where they are in contact with dangerous bacteria also have antibacterial properties, this is a very strong argument not for some prophetic diety........... but for evolution.
If these creatures did not have the defenses against bacteria they would die, only the ones with antibacterial properties will survive therefore continuing their species.............not exactly rocket science.
The newspaper article (as well as forgetting that flies also have a fourth stage in their life cycle the EGG) was a bit sensationalist, giving the appearance this was something new, it has been known for some time that dung/waste consuming (whether adults or larvae/young) have built in protection against disease, think rats and sewers.
So whats your next shot Last_Ray to try to show your myths are real? Or do you have more from your master showing that he was an observer of the evolutionary fact of "survival of the fittest"?
