That's dividing by zero. Whether that's what he intended to mean or not is a different question.
1-1 = 0.
Dividing by 1-1 is the same as dividing by zero. Just as dividing by 2 is the same as multiplying by 1/2 (or dividing by 8/4).
Note the pair of brackets I inserted in bold. They weren't originally there, meaning that in actuality it's x/1 which will equal something, then minus 1. Doing x/(1-1) is dividing x by zero.
