I'm kinda one of those Buddhist atheists. Sort of. I believe in Buddhism from a philosophical perspective, but I think the supernatural aspects of it are just a bunch of hogwash. The way I see it, though, if the quote in my sig is part of the Buddhist belief system, we are under no obligation to believe in parts of it that we think are garbage. In fact, we're obligated to NOT believe in the parts of Buddhism that simply doesn't make sense. Who cares if it is cherry picking? I mean, what's wrong with accepting the good and throwing away the bad?
