That isn't how religious education is here. It is a proper teacher that takes the class. You get taught about various religions of the world. There is no forcing any particular religion on you. It is simply about learning about what beliefs are out there. I don't see any problem with that. It is also an optional class after a couple of years at high school.
Funding is drying up here in OZ for "proper teachers to take Ethics classes" thank you our Labor govt!

Where "religious" classes get funding, Ethics classes do NOT! Sorry state of affairs from our current PM (not for long)
