It's actually comforting for religious people to believe a loved one is in Heaven. I do not think it is insensitive at all, if you know the recipient of the comment is also Christian. I also do not give a flying fuck if people say thank god. I say it and I have never believed in god. It is an expression of relief. It sure beats them saying goddammit. Sorry, it's just that with all the things we can possibly pissed about, this doesn't even register as a blip on my radar. If they explicitly said that god found her and not the searchers, then I might be slightly peeved. The people out looking for that kid most likely weren't looking for thanks. Finding the kid was likely thanks enough. I guess my point is that you should probably relax a little.

My point is they weren't saying, "Thank God". I say that too sometimes. But their literal words were, "thank you jesus 4 finding these children!!!" and "thank you Lord" and "God is good".

If I were one of the men/women who searched for those missing children and came to find those comments, it'd upset me.

Anyway, I am relaxed, hahaha. It's not like I go around all day bothered by it. Just something I wanted to write on here.
