Why is telling the truth being an asshole? Usually when I learn something new and true, I say thank you.
Oh and what was it Hitchens said " I hope I never accidentally offend anyone" Which means he had no compunction offending that which deserves being offended.
Now tell me why faith should not be offended? It isn't rooted in fact. It isn't rooted an any logical reason. It is merely wishful thinking. It would be like coddling an adult who still believed in Santa.
If it takes being an "asshole" to tell people the truth, then guilty as charged. I think the world is better off knowing the sun is a ball of gas, rather than a god that the Ancient Egyptians falsely believed for 3,000 years. If you think credulity and superstition are a good way to gain knowledge then I cant help you.
