Is he really 'allowed' to do that though? He can do that... just as I can murder you, chop off your left ankle, and toss it into the sea. But doesn't the king suffer the reaction of his people after he commits his atrocities... just as I suffer the reaction of the people after I commit mine?
I think that it is because he is king that he has the "right?" to do all of that... If I owned the castle, and tried to do that to the people inside of it: I would hardly do so without consequences.
