I've always found it strange that the more seriously a person took their religion, the more I felt inclined to be disagree with them.
One time, a friend invited me to a born-again christian worship gathering, and right in the middle of it, one of their members, who I gathered was one of their more senior members, went up to the stage to rant about how the tsunami that hit Japan was the fault of the godless Japanese, and that we should be thankful that it wasn't us who was hit because we were so holy.
Needless to say, I just walked right out after that.
