Speaking of "firearms" we have (currently) a wonderful little stoush here in Oz (yeah that magical place that is out to kill you) regarding Hunting in our National Parks.
On one side is the Hunters..... responsible, no-nonsense conservationists. (we have a very LARGE FERAL animal population and growing)
On the other side we have "The Greenie / Environmentalist" movement... who coincidentally currently display a deploring lack of scientific literacy and would prefer our native peoples - The First Australians ( I personally like that terminology) to be naked and "communing in harmony with the land" - *barf)
Thank you America for giving the "Greenies" cause to fear guns. I could direct you to a FB page that is striving to bring some articulate, reasoned and sensible arguments that support the use of "amateur hunters" to address our declining native animal population complete with the arguments from the opposing side.
