Kind of like "Manos the Hands of Fate". It's boring AND a horror story. And it's badly written. And it contains badly thought out characters with strange motives. And it's impossible to sit through.
All it will take is for someone to set someone else on fire for not liking it, and people would go to church on Sunday to worship it.
