Nothing Jesus did was conclusive evidence for anybody at the time. Faith was always a requirementSeeing Jesus in the flesh would be solid proof of Christianity to anyone! Especially when he turns water into wine and feeds 5000 people with 5 small loaves and 2 fish, die on the cross and resurrect from the death. (Also, the people witnessed the holy spirit appearing something like tongues of flame over each one's head...)
If I saw ANY of these things why the hell would I need faith to believe in Christianity? I've seen the evidence!
No you wouldn't. You'd immediately think... how did he/ they just pull off that illusion. At the time there were a plethora of messiah wannabees performing tricks. And this was precisely the reaction of some onlookers.

- There can be no proof
I have to agree with Frodo here.
If I were in the crowd and someone claimed to turn water into wine I'd wonder how the trick was done.
I would not think this man must be God, I'd think he was a magician.
But how do we know they werent tricks, If they could be interpreted as tricks whats to say the weren't.
It wouldnt be the only time people performed tricks and claim they are real. (I'm looking at you Yuri Geller)
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.
