Where did I say the physical universe came out of nothing? The whole point of the cosmological argument is that ‘nothing comes out of nothing’. The physical universe is a something that comes out of another something, just something not bound by the rules of physics.

The premise in question is true because its opposite produces paradoxical results that defy logic.
