God the tinkerer is infinitely less tiresome than "I don't believe in evolution". If people want to believe in fairies, okay - so long as their belief in fairies isn't sitting in the middle of the road - like a boulder- to something so simple as evolution, it;s much easier for me to swallow (especially from a loved one..lol).
If I propose only a what or how then they have to invent the question of a who and I immediately demand they defend the invention of a who question. They put themselves on the defensive. I find it works so well that their first response it to try to claim I brought up a who.
Never expect a believer to have considered the consequences of his beliefs. They are not wired that way.
Example. There is no evolution species were created complete. Question: Why does not god keep creating new species? Ans: He doesn't.
But you have already agreed species appear and disappear in the fossil record. The absence of "transition" species is why you are saying there is no evolution. Therefore the creation of new species must be continuous and on-going. That means your god could cause herds of carnivorous elephants to appear in north America at any moment. Shouldn't we be worried?
