Someone could. Atheists can be crazy, too. That wouldn't mean atheism made them do it. Atheism can't make anyone do anything. Neither can theism. It would take this belief to make someone kill in the name of atheism: 'I should kill in the name of atheism'. That belief is not a feature of atheism, and neither is 'I should kill in the name of theism' a feature of theism.
