Basically you're completely cut off from them, if you go pretty much anywhere in the Muslim world or even in some areas in South America or the islands of Indonesia, it is very likely you'll come across them. And there is a good reason for that.
In fact, there are people who speak with the Jinn regularly here in the UK where I live, if you go with one of them I can guarantee it will put all doubts to rest. At the same time I do not encourage doing this because usually they summon evil dastardly jinn who could easily wreck your life.
