About my knowledge in Arabic this is because I like foreign languages (Also I live in an area that I can qualify like a Muslim ghetto , they are peacefull [temporary , when they will be the majority I suppose that they will try to apply the sharia like in some parts of Denmark , UK , Norway etc...]) they speak in dialectal Arabic (I can't understand dialects easily) I prefer MSA.
You know in my district all Friday we can hear the Adhan for the third prayer.
In my knowledge we can find many zones under sharia in Western Europe and more in Nothern Europe.

Regarding the arabic dialects, almost no one uses MSA currently, especially in spoken Arabic. So learning a dialect I think is very important if you want to go deeper. The good news is that if you understand one dialect, you'll probably be able to understand more than 90% of other dialects. For example, even though I'm saudi, I can understand the egyptian or iraqi dialects very well. But the dialects used in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia are pretty different from those used in Libya, Egypt and the other arab countries in asia. So even though they still speak arabic, it's hard for me to understand them, and vise versa. I guess your country's invasion in the past is the reason.
