I think a better analogy would be that I'd believe the government would have no right to set the punishment if the laws the government made were impossible to follow unless you bowed down to the government and worshiped it, including following the government's dictate to harm others and profess bigoted beliefs.
To be clear, the government god most resembles isn't a democratic one, it's an autocracy. A dictatorship. That's the issue I have with your dishonest equivocation.
My response wasn't dishonest. No matter what the government is it has controlling power to judge by the laws it made.
God determines the punishment according to His judgement, I do not believe God ever claimed to have a democratic government, such a government comes from man because of man's flawed sense of justice, so the more that are actually involved in the government the fairer laws will be. God being perfect does not need anyone to tell Him how to govern, Satan did not like it and you see where that got Him and us. Satan like nonbelievers thought/think they can do better to meet their selfish desires. So duh, we now have hell as part of life.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
