This is not a good thing to say to a religious person. It amounts to asking "Do you really think God would do something that I don't think He is justified in doing?" There is no explicit argument within the question, and when a derogatory caricature(which is what this is and which also, may I remind you, atheists themselves seem to detest) of a belief system one little understands is spoken with an air self-congratulation, as if one had asked a significant question, one is liable to embarrass oneself.
