Lets say that god is 100% disproved by science. You no longer have any reason at all to believe.
Do you then turn around and begin murdering and raping because you no longer have a "moral guide"? Do you go crazy and do "whatever you want" simply because you now know that god doesn't exist? If not, them what would be guiding your actions?
Is god the only thing that is keeping you from doing these things? If so, you are a more fundamentally fucked up person that any atheist could ever hope to be.
I await your answer.
Great question. I am basically a loving person...so I don't think my love would change. But I am a protective father and husband.
So, I would probably act accordingly in deeds to help, and protect weaker members of my family and society.
So "love" would be my new god in that case. And nothing would stop me unto death to serve that cause.
And.... I think most Chrisitians would answer the same way.
What would your response be to the opposite scenario. Obviously nothing would change for you if God was NOT proven.
So you are saying that nothing would really change in your life if god was proven to not exist. What makes you think it would be any different for anyone else? If they are the kind of people who don't do rotten things just because god said not to, then they have far greater issues than just religion.
If god was proven, I wouldn't change anything in my life because he has demonstrated himself to be unworthy of worship of any kind. He does not interact in our lives and a world with god and a world without god are completely and utterly indistinguishable.
