I followed god, not man. I skipped around churches based on the level of spirituality I felt when going. I followed my heart based upon whom I considered god to be, not the words in a book (obviously). Although I was raised in a Christian School for part of my schooling, so I got to read the entire bible there too with a happy heart. Mind you, my life was far from happy. But I found happiness in helping others and sharing god with them. So that's what I did, for fun.
I believe anything I say, you'll have a rebuttal for quite frankly. In this case, me following my god rather than following god. Well, you'd be correct. I was definitely following a figment. Your rebuffs have been off every time. Keep trying to find a reason for me be excluded from your religious beliefs so you'll feel better about the fact that I did everything expected of me and found nothing. I'll wait.
Rationalman: anything god says to do is moral in his eyes..even bashing babies on a rock. Been through this in another thread before you came..
.... Why do I need to say anything? You've done all the heavy lifting for me. You said you looked around going from church to church looking for your version of God/Spirituality...
I'm not here to talk about what you were doing. One of the things I am here to do is show the contrast between the God of the bible and the gods of our own making. Because if you can see that there is a difference between the God of the bible and the god of your own making (even if he is heavly based off of the bible) Then you might understand why you did not see God in your efforts. Why you had no confirmation or 'proof' of God. (Because like you said a God of your own making does not exist.)

Is it you experet opinion that everyone who calls them self christian actually are? Doesn't God have a say in the matter or do you think an all powerful God is bound by some chant/sinners prayer or ritual?
What about what Jesus said in Mt 7:21-23? Where those who call themselves christian and did many christian things call out to Jesus on that final day, and He says depart from me you evil doer I never knew you.
