Newsflash: kids are cruel and insensitive towards each other. Government policy can change that... because kids always pay close attention to that kind of thing, don't they? Was your daughter told to go sit at the back of the bus because of her skin colour? No? Then STFU.

I mean, yeah, it'd be great if racial problems could have been dropped overnight when African Americans took a step forwards after all of the shite they had to go through to get any kind of semblance of equality, but old shit dies hard. Especially when there are fruitcakes who continually obsess about the colour of someone's skin. As if that somehow mattered.

Tell your daughter the same thing that every parent should tell their children: their classmates will sometimes be horrible - but don't take that as a lesson to do the same to others. Oh, and perhaps you could educate her about Rosa Parks and perhaps she might understand why racial-divides still exist (even in her lifetime) and perhaps (just perhaps) she won't grow up to be as racially-obsessed as her father.
