ALL dogmatic theistic belief systems are harmful. Not just Christianity.
Here are a few of the problems I have with Christianity:
1. The idea of EVERY human born is somehow defective because of something a man created out of dust and a rib woman ate 1000's of years ago is absurd on the face of it. Why would an omniscient deity put the temptation where they could get to it? Not even taking into consideration that dust man and rib woman never existed.
2. That a blood sacrifice was necessary to ameliorate the above absurdity is even more absurd. Here we have an omnipotent deity, and the best he can think of doing is to have his son (which is actually himself) tortured and sacrificed to himself, in order to correct his own mistakes, according to the rules he created? Seriously?! Why couldn't he have just forgiven mankind?
3. That in order to be forgiven for dust man and rib woman's mistake, we have to believe the above, despite a lack of sufficient demonstrable evidence and valid/sound logic to support it.
This is not a system designed by a moral god, and he does not (even if he did exist) merit worship.
The problems I have with Christianity in the real world are:
1. That Christians feel they need to enforce the moral demands of their imaginary god on everyone else.
2. Christians are pretty close to universally hypocrites. The claim morality, but yet the most atheistic countries in the world (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway) have lower crime rates, better health care, lower teen pregnancy rates, lower infant mortality, higher education rates, lower poverty rates, greater chance of upward mobility, etc than the most religious countries, including the US.
3. Christians feel the need to get their creation mythology taught in public school science courses.
If I had more time, I'd go on. I could fill pages.
In general, it is my contention that the more people that held beliefs based on evidence and valid & sound logic, the better for society in general.

In general, it is my contention that the more people that held beliefs based on evidence and valid & sound logic, the better for society in general.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
