A worthwhile religion consists of three parts: 1. empty promises, 2. hollow threats, tied together with 3. an explanatory tale peculiarly reflective of the level of ignorance common amongst the least educated of time when the religion was cooked up.

You made a valiant effort at 3, the least important of the ingredients. But you totally missed 1, the most important part, and 2, 1's indispensable sidekick.
