You're not insulting atheists, you're insulting soldiers. Soldiers will stick by the others and fight until the end if need be. It's a code. It's their duty. No member of the U.S. military (or any military for that matter) would skip town on their task because they're afraid to die because they don't believe in your god. Religious belief is irrelivant to their jobs. The picture proves that atheists can serve their country and face death for their country just as much as Christians can.
You're too cold and ignorant to understand that, I'm sure.
What does this flag waving have to do with ANYTHING I SAID???
lol, Your rant reminded me of Hulk hoagan starting a USA Chant in the middle of the iron sheek's patter. Yes Hoagan got the crowd on his side, but he did not answer what the Iron Sheek had to say.
George dubba did the same thing after 9-11. Yes it rallied the country, but it did not answer our own failures in intellegence and foreign policy that allowed 9-11 to happen in the first place.
If you want to flag wave that is fine, the conversation is yours. If you want to have a discussion then man up and address the content of my message.

Seriously who among you does not plan to do a 'death bed confession' just to cover your bases when/if you are given the chance?
I tried to kill myself, and my last conscious thoughts were "if there is a god, I'm going to meet him."
No base covering there.
Now, feel free to shift the goal-posts or denigrate any experience I've had without knowing anything about me. Whatever it takes to cling to your belief, I know you'll do it. Just know that it doesn't amount to anything to me.

My last conscious thought would be "I would never have to deal with god nonsense again".
I guess you'll see. Fore that day will be here before you know it.
