She was talking to another person at the desk next to me about all sorts of really nonsensical religious nonsense when all of a sudden this comes out of her mouth:
"all people are religious to some extent. They just might not realize it. Even Atheists are religious. They believe in something too. They believe in themselves.".
WTF?
I wonder if this means I can refer to myself as God now.
It doesn't make much sense to me, all of my senses tell me I'm here, I'm thinking, I'm typing and I'm breathing, even if I was extremely horrified about something and repeatedly said to myself "I'm not really here" and tried to believe I'm not here my senses would still tell me I'm here.
This is like the opposite of religious belief, religious people can go to church or israel or mecca or wherever and pray as much as they like and wish heaven exists as much as they want but the reports of people seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting, hearing god, heaven or whatever are few and far between.
It doesn't matter what I believe my senses insist I'm here, healthy sane peoples senses insist god doesn't exist but wishful thinking and belief in religious documents and hearsay insist there is a god.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
