I see a person who wrote a book detailing the methodology to attain contact with the divine..... methodology which relies heavily on self-delusion and confirmation bias...

Self delusion will only get someone so far. We have been instructed to constantly Ask, constantly seek, and to continually knock which will quickly destroy any self delusion.

I don't know where you learned psychology from, but this is simply wrong. This is not how the human mind works.

If any of your conclusions rest upon this assumption, then those conclusions are unsound.
