Now I am genuinely confused by your answer.
Why did God require them to only eat what was considered "Clean food," or wash themselves a certain way or to obstain from contact with unclean things?
They were to keep 'clean' or rather "Set apart" (Which BTW is the defination for the word Holy) inorder to be seen as acceptiable before God. Which legitimizes all of their worship , and 'other' activities under the title of 'God's People.'
