I went from believing in hell growing up, to being really depressed when I figured out what that meant for almost everyone I loved---to reasoning that god would save them at the end of times---to believing god has to be faking us out in order to be the god I know and love---to me concluding (based on the Bible) that god means what he says in the Bible and that makes him a magnificent dick hole whom I didn't believe deserves my loyalty even if he did exist. The Biblical god like all other gods, disappoints expectation of the roles it assumes to take and therefore are not real. I'm still looking for signs of a god though. Disappointingly all I'm finding is proof for naturalistic existence with no cause.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
