Really, I wonder if these people have ever read the constitution as it was enacted...or if they understood it? It created a republic in which rich, white, men were the ruling class - with some minor variants in the individual states and enshired the idea that women were shit, blacks were 3/5 of a person and fucking indians were nothing at all. Senators were chosen by the state legislatures. The right to bear arms meant a local state militia and you can bet the fuckheads don't want to roll that one back. We still have an electoral college which serves the needs of overstating the votes of rural America.

Let's try to remember what Thurgood Marshall said of the constitution:

I do not find the wisdom, foresight, and sense of justice exhibited by the framers particularly profound. To the contrary, the government they devised was defective from the start, requiring several amendments, a civil war, and momentous social transformation to attain the system of constitutional government, and its respect for the individual freedoms and human rights, we hold as fundamental today.

So, you'll forgive us if we are suspicious of your motives when you start to praise the fucking founding fathers, okay? I'm starting to think that is code for going back to the way things were.
