Apparently Harrison Ford had the runs from either food poisoning or not being used to the food available where the movie was being filmed, and had to take a quick bathroom break. So instead of filming some elaborate fight scene, he came up with the idea to just have Indiana shoot the guy.

I heard the same story Big Grin I guess it was a shitty thing to do.
