I renounce God

I often wish I'd been raised atheist, but at least I have an understanding of how religious people think, having been brainwashed since birth and believing most of my life.

My feelings step along the same line, I was never even aware of the option to not believe until I was in middle school. And even then I was prompted to "witness" to those that didn't in my grade, and was told by ministers I would be sent to hell if I questioned god.

Zazzy I'm rather envious of your upbringing; no religious thought crime, no terrifying nightmares of hell and demons, and freedom to form your own values. As a father myself I'm going to do my utmost to ensure my daughter is spared from these terrible memories I have.
