I poise a question.

My question is simple, from my understanding that god is good and basically all good things are of god. However, the problem with this is, the one who is saying god is good is god himself. So how do you know that god is not lying?

That is a question most believers don't think about and the ones who do get asked use the excuse "He said he wouldn't do that".

But if god is "all powerful" to set a limit like "he cant lie" would make him not all powerful.


So it would still not address your rightful question "how would you know".

When we look at the messy reality an "all powerful" and "all loving" god does not jive. No sane person would set it up like this, so that means humans have better morals than the god they believe in.

I'd say they simply don't want to accept the imperfect messy reality we actually live in, it isn't sexy enough for them.
