The arab women were vain... possibly still are and don't wish to damage their skin. Fair enough! I wouldn't call them stupid when they managed to find a way to prevent that damage, while keeping cool. It's actually quite clever and a bit counter-intuitive.

I also note that the arab men do the same. How is this counter-intuitive (other than have the only dye (blue or black) or goat hair that will not accept a dye to make their clothes from) They had no access to cotton.

Now, the remaining islamic women, those who don't live in desert conditions and don't have the problem of sun damage... yes, those are being stupid when they adhere to this method of preventive skin care, specially those who do so under the guise of "preventing rape"... like if a guy intent on raping will be hindered by such...

The point is well taken that no matter what a woman wears IF a male is intent on rape then rape is highly probable.

I think we have already established in other threads that iSlamic males are infantile, incapable of civilsed behaviour, and unwilling to keep their sexual desires (for other males, women, animals, or children) within bounds or to themselves and require ridiculous laws and prayers (like that matters) to make it OK for them to be nothing more than beasts of the field
