I would prefer Phoenix in fact. A larger hospital with more advanced units appeals to me (especially a level III NICU!) however with a golden retriever I'm not sure such a hot place would be kind to do to my furry friend. And since I have no family/friends out there, if the hospital does 12 hour shifts (likely) who would be able to help get my dog out? He's a good dog, but he can't go quite that long. All in all I think Prescott, where I have a couple relatives, might be the better choice.
As for the no friends, I'm ok with that. Don't be sad.
Most of the time the people contact I have at work is more than enough for me!
